"God of Music" Sam Hui

Well yesterday (weds 21, Dec 2005) was Sam Hui's only "gig" in TO and my gamily had bought tickets for it... Picked up our sis from the airport and went directly down to the Roger's Center

needless to say the Roger's Center was packed full of Chinese (extremely terrible traffic trying to get into the parking lot). to see the man dubbed as the "God of Music" well afterall his career has spanned decades and has multiple generations following him...

So anyways apperently he was on a hiatus for the past number of years, so this added to the "event" as everyone wanted to see him.

Went through a good number of his songs, was taking requests as people yelled song title's at him. He went through the crowd a number of times like when he was doing "Elvis" themed songs so he went through the lower crowd dressed in Hawaiian clothing with all those wreath thingies. and was passing them out along with his scarves (and making an effort to "wipe his sweat") before giving them out, and then he'll randomly kiss a nearby lady... needless to say lots of screaming. HAHAHA

He went through a number of themes for his songs, accompanied by obviously a wardrobe change for each theme. So there was Rich Guy/Pimp (he had a group of dancers dancing around him), Rocker (His eldest son was a rocker, so the two were jamming it up on stage), Elvis, Andrew Lyod Weber (Dressed as the Phantom), Chinese Old Period Costume (followed by the ever famous "Swordsmen" song (he of course also noted it being created by the late "Wong Zim" (spelt his name wrong)), Cowboy (with a Canada Flag on the brim of the hat), Poor Boy Honk Kong patriot (lol wearing clothes made from those generic blue/red travel bags) and a number more.

He was really enjoying this concert lasted over 3 hours (i know i err kinda made a recording with my MP3 player though there's lots of static/scratchiness to it). His encore which is where he dressed as patriotic Hong Kong "Poor Boy/Traveler Bags" was a request a song period. He had both his sons go stage to sing a song or two (eldest is obviously a musician ... a rocker to be exact). He brought over 8 of his students whom he dubbed "Sam's Angels" and they were on stage with him throughout the night.

It was fun... at times during the request a song part, he'll be singing and then all of a sudden he'll stop and go... " Oh shoot.. It's been too long... I forgot the lyrics... do you remember?? You don't... hmm alright then we'll err LA LA LA it... so LALALA lyrics LALALA etc...

Also for a few songs he made the audience sing along... but he always stopped it before the song ends and told us to sing SLOWER "lets enjoy the moment and sing slower" and then it becae slower and slower... LOL

Ah well fun night...

Now its time for me to prepare for the first of a number of paties... btw need to make an addendum to my time schedule from the previous post... Family Dinner/Party is now scheduled for the 24th... So it's basically 3 straight days of party/eating... gotta see if i could eat meat now LOL

THERE it's done... Now for the holidays

One incredibly bad week of exams... and then surgery

Exams sigh... i really have no clue how i did... I'll be happy if i pass with a paethtic mark, but one of them might not be so (anticipating bombage)...

Anyways lets talk about the surgery and then i'll list out my schedule (to date) for the holidays

So yeah arrived at the Oral Surgeons Office at the designated time... and got taken to a side room. There the Nurse went through th usual checklist of health concerns (Heart Porblems, allergies etc etc). Then she checked my blood pressure. Next thing she did was to stick 3 stickers thingies meant to monitor my heart pressure/beats and another one onto my pointer finger. This is where it was fun... Once everything was connected i started hearing "beep.... beep... beep... " and so on... took a look at it and my heart rate was at 58-64. Then she made me open my mouth and then she sprayed a numbing agent to the areas to be "operated on" (if you haven't realised yet this isn't a simple pulling/extraction but an actual under the knife surgery). anyways once she sprayed the numbing agent into my mouth, it started to freeze up and lose sensation and i ended up swallowing some of it and as a result my tongue and back of my throat we're also numbing... At the moment you hear a vastly improved "beep beep beep" in the background... my heart rate had jumped to 80.

Then the oral surgeon came in (i asked if i could keep the teeth's but they said they wouldn't allow it). Then they injected me with a needle (sleeping agent??), and then they placed the gas mask (Laughing Gas - badly positioned too LOL, was partly over my eyes). So what was i supposed to do.. .oh right breath through my nose and out through my mouth. but then of course my tongue/upper throat was frozen (and a couple of times it felt like i couldn't breath)... but anyways gas had no smell... and as i breathed this stuff in the Nurse and Surgeon chatted (nurse apperently left her car keys at the other office and had to take TTC)... and then all of a sudden i realised what was happening... my eyes started to get heavy as my breathing began to slow down. and my eyes slowly opened and then shut, until the point that it wouldn't open anymore... Then i heard them say "Alright its about time, lets begin" and that was the last i heard. Next thing i knew I was sleeping in the rest room (howed i get there??) and then my sis came in later (she got one teeth pulled, and because i had three unlike her one i got the luxury of being put to sleep ... she had to endure everything awake)

Well slept my way home... Bleeding on one side took a couple of hours to stop... Had an extremely meagre lunch of congee, and here i am now... (still woozy from the sleeping drugs or whatever... and beginning to feel pain


So now if for my schedule for the holidays...

Sat 17 - Surgery/Recoup (and obviously recouping until i could properly eat, and feel no pain)
18-20 - Free Time (if i'm lucky i should be able to leave and go hang out with people... food is a problem though)
21 - Pick up #3 sis from the airport + then head downtown for Sam Hui concert (Chinese singer)
22 - Party @ K8's
23 - Ryan's Dinner Party (guessing it a nice way to get in touch with a number of Warder's)
24 - Freetime
25 - X-mas Dinner/party with the family/clan
26 - Boxing day shopping? (fishes need new supplies, and trying to set up new tank)
27-28 - Freetime
29 - Party @ Viet's
30 - until start of school semester = Free Time

* All Freetime i guess would be spent recouping, and cleaning the house for the X-mas Party/Dinner

Well this is quite long but here it is... Enjoy... and hope to see some of you soon (assuming my gaping holes in my mouth don't kill me...) ... Oh yeah final note... As of now I am 7 adult teeth short of an average adult... (4 for Braces - 3 for the sake of everything done for the braces) guess if the last wisdom teeth shows itself then it'll be 8 teeth gone...

The MADNESS has ARRIVED

well i have a feeling i'll be doing this again once spring comes around, but yeah thats doesn't matter

All that does is that the WORLD is gonna end... LOL

ah sigh its the exams now... and my addiction to One piece has worsened at the same time (Man i love the Arabasta Arc)... textbooks are extremely boring... and i've pretty much given up on them (not really good) so i'm praying that the lecture note/materials would suffice.

Anyways thats enough of my little chat here... this is my precious "break" time right now (just finished going through all my Bio notes)... so time to have a little fun/anime before i start looking at hmmm .... maybe Zoology as thats the exam after Bio (thats the 1st one for this week)

OO Procrastination hurts

As if we all haven't figured this out yet, but procrastination is fun and hurts a lot...

Had to stay up to 4 am this thurs/fri night to finish my lab assignment for my Zoology course. and ended up only getting 3 hours of sleep. Needless to say that once i got home in the afternoon and night fell, i passed out real quickly...

Hmm yesterday was also a fun day.... Had a party at Thea's house (an early X-mas party). though it mostly revolved around either food, the PS2, Pictionary/Charades (i didn't play any of those), and what felt like a cult being formed in the basement. oh yes forgot to say stayed till like 4 am to watch Ella Enchanted ( a movie).

Anyways now how does the party fit into my post, well I have an exam this Tues (the first of this "MERRY JOLLY SEASON... GRR"... and i'm extremely extremely behind in my readings for it... So its once again a case of suffering for my procrastination ...HAHAHA this is gonna be fun...

anyways its like almost lunch and i haven't had breakfast yet (starving) and i only got 5 hours of sleep or so... (why i don't know why, maybe because i really should study and not sleep all day LOL)

anyways thats all for me to say right now...

oh actually just found out i've been invited to another party, but i need to figure how to do that one, as it takes place shortly after my oral surgery...
