OD'ed on ANGELA, and me a "fanboy?"

Yeah the following is basically what i did and some of what i saw at the con.

LOL well CN Anime 2005 is done for the year. Lets see what to say.
Arrived on fri at the con at the same time as Thea did. hand was wowed by the fact that there was no traditional 1 hr+ long lineup for the tickets. Then made my way to the line and found Keane, Von, and Renae in the line and joined them. Hmm when the con opened I made a frantic search throught "anime alley" looking for a poster of Fafner (seriously man No store in P. Mall had it). Then wandered the floor which is if you didn't know twice the size as it was in previous years. Finally found the Geneon booth and took note of the Japanese Guests autograph times. Ended buying the OST for Fafner too. Then i proceeded to line up for the autograph. Had a nice little chat with the girls in fron of me (I shall refer to them as the "Group") and ended up doing the lineup twoce as they only allowed one autograph per item (poster/cd). Also Got 2 English VA's autograph (Kirby Morrow, Brad Swaille) on the first day. Also saw Nelson while i was waiting to get the later signed.

2nd day
Saw Anthony working as a volunteer when i first arrived. Went for the Q&A with Fafner Director/Producer?, and saw Keane in there. proceeded to buy a Angela cd album. Took pictures of all the guests i saw, and got Gary Gygax's autograph (creator of D&D). Attended the Q&A for the creator of Babylon 5 (man i loved that show, got in purely by accident too, was expecting to watch an anime, but turned out to be the Q&A haha) Lined up for Angela's concert, and was OMG cut off from being allowed into the ground floor. So i was the first on the 2nd floor (later found out that the "Group" and Thea were practically in the front of the line ARGHHH). Concert was good, fun, entertaining, but mostly for the lower floor (they got bloody whistles and towels to fling around and toot). Then went to lineup to get my album autographed after the con. LOL The "Group" found me in line and budded and so we chatted, and they let me join them in line for the Masquerade, and that little "group" of people in line just kept growing as time passed, including Anthony later. Masquerade was cool, I think that was a real marriage proposal that occured on stage. anyways too much to say, i'll just cut to day 3

day 3
Arrived before the con even opened (thats a first for a weekend), and WOW the line up basically zig zagged everywhere, and was like getting close to University Road? Anyways when i got in went to the Geneon booth to see if they were still selling Angela products (listened to their album the night before and was wowed by their music, so i wanted to buy their 2nd album and get that autographed), but tragically :'( they were all sold out the day before, so I decided to get my priorly mentioned album autographed again (booklet, now the cd), and what do you know i see the "Group" again, turn out they were like first in line to get into the con (... Gah and i went to the back of line just like with Angela concert). Wandered around, spoke a bit with Thea, later saw Keane, Kenneth, Tim arrive. Then i left to go for the Angela Q&A and low and behold I meet the "group" once again (at the front of the line...), so I joined them. After the Q&A wandered around again. Bought one of Thea's artwork, then went to watch "The Place Promised in our Early days", Bloody STUPID CN... NOBODY HAS THE THEATRE AFTER 5, LET US FINISH WATCHING IT YOU *%*(#% LOSER's.... Ok now that that has been said... Wandered around the dealers floor again, and bumped into the "group" again, so I followed along and chatted with them. Our subway/bus route was the pretty much the same too, so had company on my way home.

Now sigh why didn't Keane call me 20 min before, if he did then I would not have went home, and instead stayed with the group all the way to their home area (Pacific Mall), and then have KBBQ with the guys... but no they called 15 min after i got home and was half way through my dinner. Ah well So many lost opportunities for stuff (or to make the better of my time... stupid volunteer for kicking me to the 2nd floor... during the concert)

Anyways that my nice long rant of what i did during the three days... Very Angela filled, btw the "group" calls me "fanboy" because they keep seeing me getting autographs with Angela (and Angela recognized me at one point too), but then of course weren't they doing the same thing as i was? (and they keep gettign the front of the line)

LOL and what do you know i'm listening to that cd i bought right now... (man i wonder how the 2nd album is... ARGH)

Happy Birthday Baby Cuz Sarah, and btw you got mice in your house

HAHAHA what a day...

Had lunch with Mark, and Tim, and wandered Pacific Mall in vian hopes of buying something for the weekend (for autographs), anyways the keypoint of the afternoon (asides for the late lunch), is that we were heading over to my Uncle's house to celebrate my Baby Cuz Sarah's 1st birthday. Her Older brother was sick (me and my mother were extremely disaproving of what my Uncle, and Auntie (I'll use Auntie instead of plain "Aunt" as i have really no clue what to call her, or maybe girlfriend will work... anyways) we're giving him a cold pop because he was thirsty, aren't you supposed to be giving WARM fluids when your sick, even if its a fever... (their kids are spoiled, sadly Little Sarah will prob follow big bro, and sis also... sigh...), but yeah we gaved up as there was no point in arguing, they've heard my mother complaining about how their treating and spoiling their children enough already (2 year old drinking Milk Coffee, and lots of it... err)

Anyways after our little dinner, which was entertained by the fact that all Little Matthew (the brother), screaming for cake the entire time... and seeing him blow out the candle twice and wouldn't let his sister near the candle at all... we were all chattign around and i was off staring aimlessly into nowhere, and low and behold... A MICE!!!... showed its little head from behind the couch. I told the "elders" (Everyone older then me) about it, and my other cuz goes, "Mark, are you blind? and seeing things?" anyways i started defending myself while my Uncle ran off to grab a flashlight... and proceeded to move the couches, and he found presents (ie. mice poop), he grabbed a stick and vacuum cleaner and started shoving the furniture around to try and get a got whack at the mice. I'm standing there knowing its futile, but my mother screams at me to help move the furniture, so i did. Next thing you know the mice runs right pass where i USE to be standing and into who knows where... Joy. Well at that point it was the end of the day for the party HAHAHA...

BTW My family had a mice infestation many years back and the best way to catch the little guys, is not to use a stick and whack it, comeon, the stick is the same size as the mice, what are the chances of hitting it. Use a big broom, or do what i did... which was to make a wall with whatever available material i had, and put a box at the end of the wall. Then you chae the mice, the mice has no choice but to run along the wall, until it sees the big dark box (which it will feel as a good hiding place), runs in, and voila close the box and you've caught yourself a mouse. I was able to personally chase or catch 3 mice using this method... Ah well... hope My Uncle could figure something up.

OOO 2 days to CN Anime

OMG IT's A FLOOD

haha never have i ever seen a flood occur in my neighbourhood. well first time for everything. Started off with a nice massive hailstorm tragically it was mostly over by the time i got my camera. Few minutes later looking out from my room I noticed a river flowing past my house and that got me wandering outside. Sigh so much for the umbrella, only my head stayed dry. My pants and shirt got soaked soon enough and so i decided to wander around some more. AT this point some guy was yelling at me from his car, but the rain was too loud so i couldn't hear him. ANyways went about taking pictures and extremely crappy movies with my camera.

Just as i was headed back to my house i noticed that there was a number of cars piling up, just down the road so i headed over to see what it was, and the guy was yelling at me from the car, now waves me over and tells me to look at the sideroad... OMFG... IT WAS FLOODED... and 2 cars were stalled and dead. At the exact same moment some smart alec driver thought he could drive through the flood and started to turn in. Well thank god i had my camera recording it as a movie, gonna have fun showing that my sister... as the car drives in and DIES in the middle of the road. HAHAHA

Anyways yeah. I ended wandering into the road myself just to see how deep it was and how bad it was. stupid pants wouldn't stay hiked up so i'm now dragging heavy wet pants (their fleece) around. Anyways this is what i saw. Asides for the 3 stalled cars I noticed a house on the corner right next to the flood, with its owner bailing out water... sigh people down there are so unlucky today, from the looks of it some of the houses were flooded. After that walked into the flood and it went way past my knees. I estimate it to be more then 2 feets at the deepest part.

Anyways heres a nice photo to demonstrate how stupid some people could be, but the other cars got it worse.

anyways now that i'm all dried up and the rain is not raining as hard now, maybe i should head out and see if the road is still flooded. Oh yeah Thankfulyl my house is on the middle of a hill so my house is nice and dry.

Final death time (for the Semester)

well what luck having come out of a bloody summer cold (and sadly STILL recovering), has left me... well... extremely unprepared for my exams. And Guess what Its time for the Final Exams. So my solution to pray that i could do a good job of BS'ing my answers (not a promising way to end the courses).

Anyways a thing i really must say about this summer cold... In my mind, i find that this is a good indicator that I"M GETTING OLD!!!... Illness's are getting worse and worse each year. Heck I think i sound like an old guy having to clear my throat every so often (at the moment). Also noticed that my sinuses were in such an aggravated state this year that at times i was tearing up... Sigh. If the trend continues I'll prob end up developing a bad throat infection/Fever like my sis and then Passing out as I lumber around, and knock my teeth out or something.

Anyways thats enough from me. My anime dl is about to be done in a min and thats when i shall head off to sleep (and hopefully a good nights rest that would help me to BS through my first exam at night today)

Sick?

Gosh what a time to be sick. First of all in the middle of summer too... a summer cold?? and given by my sis?? Well she saw the Doc today and its a throat infection... Is that spreadable? Anyways Been suffering from a BAD sore throat these past 2 days, ands that usually a first sign/stage of illnesses for me.

Anyways been glugging down lots of warm fluids to keep the throat soothed, nothing else (i'll let my body handle it no matter how weak and pathetic i'm becoming, i'm a twig. (sigh a full year of vegetation now... EVIL University, but i should be blamed also for being unactive, but shouldn't that make me gain weight??)

Anyways what stinks about this is that this is the final week of classes meaning that next week is exams. So i like kinda need my brain functioning while i play catch-up on my readings, and preparation for the exams.

Ah well.

Hope it doesn't get more worse then a sore throat. Only 1.5 week till total freedom (until the fall semester)

Terrible Addictions

Korean Drama - Dae Jang Geum: Jewel in the Palace

Well me and my sis has finally gotten around to seeing what the whole fuss about this show was, which had practically swept all over Asia, and had a huge following. Causing a huge uproar for Korean cusine and such in its wake (I could see why)

My Aunt had the series copied onto DVD, and lent it to us (including a nice stack of blank DVD's... (she just grabbed the spindle the show was in... time for me to get a dvd writer and "sneak a few disks away") Anyways started watching it on Sunday night, and GAH instantaneous addiction.

Anyways me and sis have finished off a quarter (or third) of the show by now... my eyes are dying, (had to finish my essay through all this watching) and i'm falling really behind on my anime watching because of it HAHAHA...

Anyways for those of you who've never heard about it or never seen it.
It's a historical drama, based on a real historical person, Suh Jang Geum, who is Korea's first acknowledged female physician, and got to become the King's personal doctor (male doctors only cater to males, female to females...) so hence her title Da Jang Geum (the Great Jang Geum or something like that).

So essentially the show shows her heritage (parents and their circumstances), to her entering the Imperial court, becoming a cook, and to the end a doctor.

The show is amazing as we get to see amazing Korean cuisine being cooked (man the King gets well fed...). Learning alot about food and their properties too (Green Bean soup could act as a counter agent to poison?? WOW). Also we get to see the Intrigue of court life and the scandals that occur daily, the joys of politics...

Very good and intelligent show, not shallow, very well made lots of emotions in it. (now i'm wishing that my East Asian Studies course (summer school) was also covering Korea this summer... but its summer (time constraints, so Korea got dropped for Japan this summer)

Anyways i'll talk more, but of as I said I've only seen a quarter to a third of it so I have no clue how it continues (asides from the fact that she becomes the King's doctor.)

Actually here found a link (haha also a blog site) that has more info/details about it
